Part of our Story

This home is the bones to our family. Our oldest daughter was just shy of 2 when we bought this home. Our other two both came home from the hospital and experienced all of their first in this home. First baths, first laughs, first crawls, and first steps. This home built these 3 kids for almost 5 years. 

In 2012 we felt God calling us to sell everything and downsize, so we put our farm on the market. 

We sold the home pretty quickly, we packed up our life, followed God's leading, and cried as we walked away. 

But we were full of trust.

A year passed and our acreage surrounding the home still hadn't sold. As you can imagine, we were questioning why.

Another year passed and still nothing. That is when God opened a way for us to build on that land.

After two years of open hands to God's people, he opened a new path. We were coming back to the farm. He opened a way for us to build on the land we had tried to sell for 2 years.

We were overjoyed.

Many of you that know our story, know where this story is going, but for those of you that are new here, let me tell you.

Fast forward to 2016 where I was dreaming of a Barn full of love stories. Building a venue brings hurdles, many of them. 

But I watched as God moved every single one of them. I knew 100% that He put Firefly Lane in our hearts and that we were just His tools to accomplish what He needed to get done. 

1 year later, in 2017, the Barn venue opened.

Moving into 2018, God was stirring our hearts again. Our families thought we were crazy, once again, but we took another huge leap of faith and trusted the vision that we felt He had given us.

1 year later, in 2019, the Chapel venue opened.

At the end of 2019, the couple that bought the home from us, 7 years before, asked if we wanted to buy the house back. 

We had honestly prayed for this for many years. We had prayed that God would make our farm whole again. 

And now after us following His leading, 7 years before, He was bringing it all back together.

Why do we tell you all of this?

Simple.

Your story may not look like ours; filled with walking away from something we loved, tears, dark times, neck injuries, losing careers .... walking back into that thing we walked away from and seeing God's Sovereignty.

But whatever it is that you are walking away from, stepping into, trusting, not trusting -- just know that God is right there!

We went for years wondering "why.... when we did what God asked us to do, why he wasn't allowing the land to sell. 

Why was God not allowing that? When we were faithful to what He asked?"

In 2020 when we signed the papers on the old home place, we knew. 

Without a doubt.

God hadn't allowed us to sell the land, all those years before, because He had a plan for it all along. 

It was all part of our story. 

His Story.

He moved mountains for us to be here.

It may have taken 7 years for it all to come full circle, but He knew.

We are only here to tell His Story.
